Welcome to U11 House team. For those of you who do not know me, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Cory Smith, and I have been given the privilege of coaching this team. I have been assistant coach and trainer on various teams from U-11 to U-15 both with my son and all three of my daughters. My coaching philosophy is to encourage the love of the game within all the players on the team. Encouraging team work and development of skills is much easier when the players want to be there and enjoy their time on the ice. I have had the opportunity of working with some excellent head coaches who I've learned a lot from, but also I have seen the importance of the whole coaching staff including trainers and managers. I also know the importance of having parental involvement. As parents, coaches, trainers, den moms, skate tiers, we all contribute to the success of this team. We all are giving up our time to see our players have fun and not only develop hockey skills but develop life long skills of being able to work as a team.
I think we have a great group of players and I look forward to watching their grown and development over the year. The biggest reward we can receive as a coach is not a win at the end of a game, but seeing the players develop, put out their best effort and end the game or practice with a smile because they have had fun playing a great game!
Regards,
Cory Smith
