U9 - Scott Ryan

Hello everyone and welcome to Cyclones Hockey.

My name is Scott Ryan and I am pleased to be one of this year’s U9 Head Coaches.  I have been involved with Almonte Pakenham Minor Hockey for 12 years holding various roles such as assistant coach, head coach, trainer, Director of Initiation and Director of Coaching.

My daughter has decided to make the jump to Cyclones and I am excited for her and the for the season ahead. I can’t wait to get started and get to know the new players and families.

The main goal for the year is to have fun.  If kids are having fun, it will keep them coming back to the rink.  If the kids are happy coming to the rink it will show in their skill progression and hopefully their love of the game will continue to grow.  One of the most rewarding things as a coach is to watch the kids gain confidence in their abilities that will hopefully translate to all aspect of their lives outside of hockey.

Plan for the season will be to focus in improving fundamentals, individual tactics and progress into basic team tactics closely following the development plan for this age level.  I strongly believe that kids need to focus on technique which will be the building block for what is to come in years ahead.

Once the teams are formed I will send out additional information.  I will reach out at that time to look for help this season to fill various roles such as assistant coaches, managers, trainers etc.  If you have ever wanted to get into coaching, please consider helping this season.

Enjoy the last few weeks of summer and we will see you on the ice soon enough!

Go Cyclones!!

Yours Truly,

Scott Ryan
